Perfect first science kit
My six-year-old absolutely loved this kit. The experiments were simple enough for her to follow with a little help, and she learned so much about colors and reactions. Great value for the price.

Scientific Explorer's My First Mind Blowing Science Kit is an entry-level science kit designed to introduce young children to the wonders of chemistry and physical science through safe, hands-on experimentation. Packaged in colorful, kid-friendly branding, the kit typically includes a variety of basic tools and materials such as test tubes, measuring spoons, mixing trays, pipettes, and a set of safe powders and compounds like citric acid, color tablets, and cornstarch. These components allow children to conduct a series of guided experiments that demonstrate fundamental scientific concepts, including chemical reactions, color changing solutions, fizzing reactions, and the creation of simple non-Newtonian substances like fake snow or bubbling volcanoes. The kit comes with an easy-to-follow instruction booklet that walks young learners step-by-step through each activity, making it accessible even for children with no prior science experience.
As part of the broader Microscopes & Science Kits category, this product stands out for its focus on early childhood education, typically targeting children ages four and up. Unlike more advanced microscopy sets or complex chemistry kits aimed at older students, My First Mind Blowing Science Kit emphasizes simplicity, safety, and sensory engagement. The experiments are designed to be visually stimulating and immediately gratifying, capturing a young child's attention through bubbling reactions, vibrant color changes, and satisfying textures. This makes the kit an effective tool for parents and educators looking to spark curiosity about science before introducing more technical instruments like microscopes or advanced lab equipment, laying a foundational interest that can grow into more serious scientific exploration later on.
Durability and ease of cleanup are also central to the kit's design, with reusable trays and tools that withstand repeated use across multiple experiments. Because the materials are pre-measured and clearly labeled, parents can supervise activities with minimal preparation, reducing the stress often associated with introducing science experiments at home. The kit also encourages the development of essential skills such as following instructions, observing cause and effect, and understanding basic measurement, all while fostering a sense of accomplishment as children complete each experiment. As a gateway product within the Microscopes & Science Kits niche, My First Mind Blowing Science Kit succeeds in making science approachable, fun, and memorable for the youngest of learners, setting the stage for a lifelong interest in scientific discovery.

This kept my kids entertained for a few afternoons, but some of the powders and materials are only enough for one or two uses. Still, a fun introduction to science.
The kit is fine for very young kids, but my 8-year-old found it a bit too easy and wanted more challenging experiments. Good starter kit though.
Bought this as a Christmas gift for my niece and she was thrilled. The instructions were clear and the experiments felt like real science, not just toys.
Some steps require adult help with measuring and safety, but overall it's a nice bonding activity. My son really enjoyed the crystal growing experiment.
