The Celestron TetraView LCD Digital Microscope brings a fresh approach to specimen viewing by eliminating the traditional eyepiece entirely, replacing it with a bright 4.3-inch LCD screen mounted on a sturdy articulating arm. This design allows for comfortable, strain-free group viewing since multiple people can observe the same image simultaneously without hunching over an eyepiece. The microscope features four fully rotating, parfocal objective lenses offering magnification levels of 40x, 100x, 400x, and 600x, giving hobbyists, students, and educators a versatile range for examining everything from prepared slides to small organisms, minerals, fabric fibers, and more. The coarse and fine focus knobs provide precise control, while the sturdy metal frame ensures stability during extended use in classrooms, home labs, or hobbyist workspaces.
Built with both LED transmitted and reflected illumination, the TetraView accommodates a wide variety of specimen types, whether translucent slides requiring light to pass through them or solid, opaque objects that need surface lighting for detailed inspection. Independent brightness controls for each light source let users fine-tune illumination to reduce glare and enhance contrast, which is especially helpful when examining textured or reflective materials. Images and video captured through the built-in digital imager can be saved directly to a microSD card, and the unit also supports real-time output to an external monitor or projector via HDMI, making it a practical tool for lecture demonstrations, science fairs, or collaborative learning environments where sharing visual detail matters.
Aimed at students, homeschool families, STEM enthusiants, and entry-to-intermediate microscopy users, the TetraView package typically includes prepared slides, blank slides and cover slips, a microSD card, and other basic accessories to get started right out of the box. Its digital-first design means there is no need to squint through a traditional ocular lens, making it especially friendly for younger users, those wearing glasses, or anyone new to microscopy. Powered by USB or standard batteries depending on use case, the TetraView balances portability with functional depth, offering an approachable yet capable platform for exploring the microscopic world. Whether used for structured coursework, casual curiosity-driven exploration, or documenting findings for a science project, this Celestron model delivers a modernized, screen-based alternative to conventional optical microscopes without sacrificing the core educational value that makes microscopy such a compelling hands-on science tool.

Works well for basic biology exploration. The 40x setting gets grainy, but for casual use it's more than enough.
I use this in my after-school science club. The kids enjoy saving photos of their specimens to show parents.
Don't expect university-level clarity. It's a nice intro microscope, but the focus knob can be finicky at higher zoom.
Bought this for my daughter's science fair project and it worked wonderfully. Video capture was a nice bonus feature.
